Does it freeze?

Yes! You can freeze the final curry, the Secret Sauce, or the curry at any stage of the cooking process. Most meat and vegetables will survive and be equally delicious second-time around, but we suggest that fish (not prawns) and potatoes are removed. But don't throw them away - curried potatoes are delicious fried!

Do I have to follow the secret sauce recipe?

It's such an easy option, and we know that once you have made a batch there will be no going back, but NO, you don't have to make the Secret Sauce! For one curry, blend an average onion with 4 cloves of garlic and a small piece of ginger. Fry with the spices and add 200ml water with the other liquid ingredients. Or you can fry a finely chopped onion and add a squirt of onion and garlic paste, but don't forget the added water!

When will my order arrive?

We normally dispatch the day after the order is placed at the latest, by Royal Mail second class signed for (UK only). See our shipping page for more details.

Are your products vegan?

Everything is vegan until you add meat or dairy to it, with the exception of our Massaman blend which contains prawn powder . A couple of our recipes mention using yoghurt or cream - we suggest using coconut milk or a vegan alternative.

Are your products suitable for Celiacs disease?

Absolutely! The blends contain no gluten products and are prepared using special equipment which does not come into contact with any gluten.

I can’t find a spice blend I have ordered before

A few of our products are seasonal - eg our Christmas curry. They are only 'live' on the website at certain times. If you are desperate for one, email us at info@bitspicy.com as we often have supplies here which we can send out to you!

Is your packaging environmentally-friendly?

The cartons are cardboard and can be re-cycled if you remove the window, which isn't difficult! We have moved to new bio-degradable bags inside the cartons - these are currently the best option available to us, as compostible bags have a very limited shelf-life and are not very strong. Great for fruit and veg in a supermarket but not good for us at the moment, but we are keeping our eyes open for new products.
